Professional CCTV Drain Surveys in Bracknell

Rats are our most common pest; wherever you live there will be rats close by, sometimes outside in the environment and other times living in the drainage system that connects your home to the sewer.
As part of our investigation into rat infestations we will carryout a CCTV survey of your drains to see if the defect is beneath the property.

No amount of poison or trapping will see an end to a rat infestation if the route in is via a drain defect that is left unchecked, we have years of experience and know from the area we’re in if its likely to be a drain fault.

Older properties have vitrified clay pipes and these are susceptible to cracking, particularly in an area where the ground is settling such as old gravel extraction beds and adjacent landfill pits.

As the cracks intensify they meet up and sections collapse allowing rats to enter via the gap, the rats dig into the loose soil around the pipe which falls into the pipe and gets flushed away.

Sometimes a householder will tell us that the property has a history of the drains blocking – a sure sign that rats are filling the pipes up with soil.

Modern buildings have plastic pipes and plastic inspection pits: these are often gnawed open where a fault was left when installed; we see missing blank plugs and pipes cut at an angle allowing the rats to get a grip on the edge.

New extensions are a continual source of internal rat infestations caused by builder’s negligence; uncapped redundant drains and the use of flexi-connectors in place of a solid plastic sleeve allows rats to gnaw through into your home.
At Bracknell Pest Control we use CCTV cameras as part of our standard treatment: we look further to find the source of your rat infestation, once found we can help you going forward to find a good drainage contractor or install a one way valve to keep rats at bay.
